If someone wonders how 'Virginia' suddenly became 'Georgia', the explanation is that there was an abundance of really good, detailed photos of the latter. Also, the era-typical funnel bands were more evident for the Georgia than Virginia, hence the shift of ship!

you forgot to remove the muzzle block on the wing turret. apart from that, this is looking good.

I'm kind of surprised there no hull shading, considering IIRC its quite a portly hull

Rodondo, explain that statement, since I've looked closely at photos of the class. I don't know how to do "shading' on a practically vertical, slab-sided hull.
The Connecticuts had more tumble home, but still, in my view, to little to warrant fidgeting with our standard shading process.

By portly I mean with with the stern's curve at the very aft end, from what I can tell from the hull's shape it looks like there should be a bit of shading right at the edge.

I see what you mean, and you may be right about that. I's however of such minimal degree that, again, i don't think we ought to mess with it too much. I did check a really good picture of the Georgia, and it doesn't show too much negative flare at the stern. it actually appears that most of the curvature began just beneath the boot topping!

You're absolutely right about the hull being slab sided though, rather garishly slab-sided in my own opinion but I suppose as far as battleships go this one would have been a bit cramped below-decks to fit all that in such a small package.
