All the missing posts should Now be on place...

What I've done with round objects, is that I don't shade the ends of them, but instead I leave them solid grey, but place a thin (about 8-10 % of the objects width according to how the pixels allow) ligther band to the 1/4 distance from the foremost end

Before you declare it finished, maybe you should revisit the bridge structure some?

According to my estimates on the photo provided, the top of the roof of the double-storeyed CT is level with the foremost cowling. So, I'd raise it the appropriate amount of pixels. That way you can raise the upper bridge platform also and restore the height of the now seriously cramped and too low charthouse beneath (which in your current configuration won't be able to hold a regular full-sized person without having him stoop!).

Thanks. That was bothering me too.

Trust me, friend, working from photos - after you've traced the object - can be quite atrocious! Just recently I had to remodel the bridge of the French heavy cruiser Colbert (not posted yet), since I stumbled across a couple of close-ups that I had totally forgot that I had!
But you're doing a fine job with this! Hopefully you'll do the Virginias too!

Thanks for the corredtion and the encouragement. I think this works much better. Each level under the mast is a full deck height.

I'm looking at the Virginias as we write and also the USS Michigan. I know we already have the USS South Carolina--I'm not sure I like it though. I'm trying to find examples of her with her original polemasts just aft of each of the funnels. The two tiered turrets of the Virginias have always bothered me. But I'll draw them.

Hey David, I did some further modifications on the bridge, using photos. Can I send it to you, or would you like me to just post it in your thread?

Also, add another black line below the walking stands on the masts. Basicly all structures like that are to be presented in three pixel width in SB.

If David allows it, I could do that. But, yes, Golly's right. Platforms should be three pixels thick (unless base is covered...)
