Since Golly and I are both Scandinavians we share an innate love for our countries' navies. I was pleased to se that he had made the Tre Kronor-class bot as originally built and as modernized. However, I've been frantically waiting for an update of the modernized version, so here's my go at it, with Golly's blessing:
It's the sole, still fitted-out HMS Göta Lejon, that I chose, since her sister, HMS Tre Kronor, was already mothballed, and, in 1964 was stricken from the navy's list. The GL, as she was oftentimes referred to is here shown just prior to hers being repainting in a dazzle camouflage and prepared for her last fleet problem, in 1963. She features the massive Dutch-made LW-02 air-search radar on the foremast, the British-made Type 978 surface-search radar on the top platform on the mainmast, and below it the likewise British-manufactured Type 277Q height finder and target acquisition radar. She also has a navigational radar of unknown origin at the second platform on her foremast.
If this update is agreeable, I shall do the 1964 version also, with the dazzle-camouflage. A note: the ship is not flying a pennant at the main topmast, as she is formally laid-up, but the 1964 version will undoubtedly feature that.
