This is a dumb forum full of dumb people.

I'm about to ban everyone in this thread unless everyone posts a funny picture from Google (your choice) in this thread within 24 hours.

 my own vote is scap the lot of them, my reasons are simple. There are certain premium members I regard as far superior to myself. Kim, DG Alpha and the mad Viking to name but a few. Secondly I have just read an earlier post that really made my mind up.I will not divulge which one. Now I am proud of my elite member status and I might be turkey voting for Christmas. Just my 2 bob's worth. :geek:

Enough with the nonsense ok?

Anyways, as sum it, the majority wants to retain the ranks, and majority of those wants to modify them, yet no good idea has yet been given or suggested that would really work better than the current system.

I think bottom line of the concerns from us Admin. have come clearly stated and perhaps the majority knows these concerns and tries for their best to work together for better community even within the current status. I don't want to run Shipbucket against the will of its members (or more like the will of those who cares, we have what, 35 votes?) so perhaps the ranks are to stay. And i mean the current ranks. No workable suggestion has yet appeared that would provide better system.

But lets recap few things:
1. The ranks have always been rewarding meassures out of contribution to the bucket, and most cases becouse of drawingskills. Some premium members and really few elite-members have gotten their colors becouse of technical and informational contribution sake, but in these cases as well, its been reward from their contribution.

2. Ranks are not there to weight someone's opinion. Many newer member here has posted stating that ranks help them to select whom's advise to listen. DON'T DO THAT. Always use your own brains and understand that there are many ways to do SB art, and opinions are just opinions. Judge them against the character of each member, not against their colors. Only one's whos opion is "weigthed" in issues like rules, style guidelines and assorted are Me, Colloseum and Mconrads.

Everyone's opinion is as equal and good as anyone elses, only the opinion itself matters, not if its made by someone who's been here for a month or someone who was here before the forums. Some people have more insigth to SB's simple idea than others, and some see it more clearly than others, and this is not nesserically tied to one's experience, just like it is with drawing skill.

3. Don't contribute in sake of the ranks or rewards, but sake of the Bucket. Best reward and praises our community can give is the compliment for your drawings. Good work gets that despite how well/badly you've regarded among your piers.

That said, I still leave this thread open for suggestions. At some point We migth promote something again, since couple of those are sort of long doing and bit unfair to have some of our best drawers still in premium and even colorless.

And, if you have managed to understand behind Colo's rantings, have fun, be nice and cool, this is our hobby and its only Internet. The more friendly we can be among ourselves, the better its for everyone overally.
