that is a good thing, isn't it?
There is no shame of beeing proud of SB, and one's contribution to it. All the current bearers of these ranks of us can prouldy present themselves as valuable members of the community, as well can those who are yet for some reason still unpromoted. Thats why I want that if we keep the ranking system, it would go for more towards something that rewards the artists and contributors
Hood's comments also has merits in it. We cannot get rid of the proplems based around human behavior, but in same breathstake I dare to say we atleast should try not to fuel the bad conduct.
This shows us who is here for the purpose this site is for and who are doing to research to fulfil that role, and those who are here for a bit of fun/ learning. After all many Elite-standard members could purely post AU work and show excellent but not contribute at all to the purpose of the archive at all. This way its not skill but contribution that counts and perhaps offer some incentive to contribute more?
There is idea behind this, but then we need to take consideration that the situation is not that fair towards the newer members in terms of completing the archive. Those of you who weren't here from the beging did never had change to just draw what ever ship you liked most and fill the bucket with the biggest fishes. Nowadays, its more down to hope to get slim change of redrawing something that has become obsolete in stylewise or focus on the odd little fishes that swims in the murkier waters. Yet we have new talents showing up reqularly whose skill impress and more importantly, inspires us older members. Why shouldn't their talent be rewarded as well as that of those who have served long..
