Excellent work. I'd never heard of this vessel so this is must illuminating.

Heres HMAS Goorangai, a Castle Class Naval Trawler which tragically sunk with all hands after being being run down by a ship roughly 50 times her size at Port Phillip Heads

Wonderful drawing, but I don't care whose side the rammer was on, if I was the ramee I would have gotten at least shot!

Thanks all,

RE:Seeker36340, the Goorangai was crossing a busy shipping lane with limited navigation lights during a "brownout", later ruled while the MV Duntroon (an Australian Troopship) was also to blame, the poor positioning of Goorangai's lights largely was to blame. But yes, very unfortunate

Lovely work Rodondo!

All to often these "Small Ships" are ignored, but without the difference these Flotillas and Squadrons of small ships made to the general war effort, in BOTH World Wars, then the Carriers, Battleships and Battle Cruisers that everybody focuses on, they would have remained in port for the duration.

So VERY well done mate. and lovely drawing :!:
