WWI and Minor Asia Campaign (1914-1922)

Hellas was to enter the WWI for the Kallipoli Peninsula Campaign in December 1914 with Triple Entente (Allies) side, but unfortunately this did not happen due to serious argument between Prime Minister and King which let to a split. After many incidents ( such as Piraeus Blockage from French Navy, taking over some RHN ships, creating of the new government by Prime Minister in Salonica which entered the War in Allies side etc), Hellas finally entered the War in May 1917. After the WWI, with the Treaty of Sèvres in 1920 Hellas received a West and East Thrace plus a small part of Minor Asia. But the Campaign was catastrophic for Hellas.

P.S In my scenario there was no Minor Asia Campaign and Hellas entered WWI in December 1914 with Allies. With the Treaty of Sèvres the five Hellenic Autonomous Territories were created (North Makedonia, North Epirus, North Thrace, East Thrace and Ionia in Minor Asia)

Dorand AR.1

When the Hellenes entered the First World War, they acquired 12 Dorand AR.1 aircraft from France. These comprised the core of the Hellenic 532nd Reconnaissance Unit, which was established on 12 December 1917. They were used until 1923 for reconnaissance and as trainers.

Another Nieuport 24bis, from the 531 Squadron, a mixed French-Hellenic Squadron of 1918. This aircraft perhaps flown by Alexandros Zannas, who was the only Hellene pilot of that Squadron according to sources. It seems that this squadron flown above French positions in early 1918 with Nieuport 24bis, because from June 1918 all Nieuport replaced with SPAD. Zannas did flied SPAD, perhaps he flew also Nieuport.

A SPAD XIII during Minor Asia Campain. There all Squadron of Army Aviation had a mix of various aircraft and featured many problems with spare supply and heat. Turks also had similar problems, most aircraft crashes were because of mechanical failures, not at battle.

One pilot, Sgt.Christophorus Stavropoulos flew one SPAD , numbered "4468" chased an enemy plane in July 1921 firing until his single gun jammed. The single gun says that this aircraft was a VII.

Sources of the era about Hellenic SPAD numbers are a bit confusing, nobody knows for sure were the "4457","4466" and "4468" were S.VII or XII anyway. But Stavropoulos flied an VII that day (single gun is mentioned clear), however perhaps the aircraft was the "4466" instead of "4468".
