Working on it. Thanks, As I said, this ship is nearly as large as an Iowa. 875ft OAL, 112ft Beam and a 33ft Draft.

I have a feeling there should be at least three-four funnels. due to the power needed, and the efficiency of that time period boilers.

And if the Lexington concept needed 7 funnels:

It's starting to look good! However, I think you can work in two additional 6"-gun casemates, and please fix the credits (spelling, fontsize especially!)
One particular thing I'm dubious about, again, are the splintershields for the 5"/25s. Such features really didn't occur till around 1940/41, with a few vessels, especially Pacific-based cruisers, receiving them from 1938 onwards.
And, finally, there could be much more detailing, to make the ship really come alive, but I trust you're planning on doing that anyway. (If you wonder what I mean, your ship is lacking in deck equipment, such as ventilators, hatches, mooring gear)

This is really coming along. I like the superstructure, it looks distinctly American for the period while also being unique. I tend to think you don't need that many funnels. this design is coming after Lexington and South Dakota and by the final drafts of those ships the boilers were all trunked together. You may want to make the funnels bigger, but I think two is sufficient.

I would shade the superstructure around the casemate guns a little differently to show how the structure is angled.

I hope you plan on drawing the 1940's configuration after your done with the as built version.

You're correct, detailing is quite needed. I'll be working on that.

Yes the refit, reconstruction will be very interesting.
