General Electric quotes on the order of 150 lb/s of intake air to a LM2500. The total weight of a RIM-116 is on the order of 120lb. If we assume that half of that weight is rocket fuel, that it burns instantly, and that the turbine behind it takes in exclusively exhaust, we're still talking about a half-second transient. I am almost certain that the gas turbine would not actually be damaged by this event; I would not be surprised if it were scarcely even noticeable to the engineering crew.

One issue I have with the new version is that you're loosing a lot of interior volume, primarily in the superstructure but also in the hull. It's hard to estimate with ony a side view to go on, but between the stealth shaping and the funnels it looks like you're loosing something on the order of 20-30% of your superstructure volume. This is especially bad in the hangar.
Stability might also become an issue since you've removed a lot of weight low in the hull and added a lot of top hamper.

RE: Ingestion of missile exhaust - engine ingestion of cannon efflux and missile exhaust can cause a flame out, and this was an issue in some early jet fighters with muzzles near the intakes. The exhaust can also be corrosive, so one would prefer it not be sucked into ducts. That being said, there's a difference between a fighter canon mounted on the muzzle lip and a light missile launcher somewhere in the vicinity of a GT intake.

TBH I'd be more concerned with damage to the intakes themselves. LCS-1 seems to have a lot of surface protection against blast in way of the RAM launcher.

thank you gentlemen. Thiel, I figured about the same on the missile exhaust, although with no scientific data haha. RP1, how Could I rectify this situation? I like to draw them, and I know a little about them but the super technical stuff alludes me :)

I work on a gas turbine (land based combined cycle power plant), I would not be enthusiastic about blasting missile exhaust into the turbine's intake. However, the quantity of exhaust isn't very much in comparison to the total intake volume and it's not going to fire very often. So with the first point it's unlikely to cause the turbines serious issues. A few pounds of propellant gases being ingested won't seriously upset the turbine but I'd still likely integrate something into the control system to reduce fuel flow by maybe three to five percent when the RAM's firing just to be safe. Because it doesn't fire often corrosion isn't going to be a big concern.

That said, if I could just not get hot rocket exhaust in my turbine intake that would be fantastic. What about behind the bridge. There looks to be a large open space there that might accommodate the launcher.
