fact is, with large gaps and hatches in the hull even the springsharp report is nulfied.

Well, design non-withstanding, I think it's a good drawing. For being a first drawing, they look very good, especially the overhead and bow/stern views, something I only know Rodondo to do on a regular basis(I do them occassionaly).

Thanks!

I was getting depressed at the instantaneous drubbing my ship got pummeled with.
I’m refitting her with a higher freeboard and an increased beam. Hopefully she will meet lesser criticism.

well, we've been here before, there is something wrong with 400m+ battleships.
I'll leave apart the problems of BBG's in general, but the only ships of these size are oil tankers and FPSO's. the limits of the material limit it for warship designs, which have much higher point loads and margins in the construction.
the easiest way to get this ship somewhat realistic is making it shorter, removing some of the guns (or making them smaller) and removing the hatches in the hull. once you approach yamato/montana sizes somewhat, then you have an battleship that could work. the VLS have relatively small impact on the design on an ship this size, so you do not need an larger ship for that, you only need to make them shockproof for that.

The problem is that you're drawing that can charitably be described as having dubious mission with conflicting requirements. This makes it really hard to give positive technical feedback, especially since we'd have to wade through the murky depths of the BBGN debate.
The drawing itself is basically sound from an artistic standpoint, but there's little point in going into the details when the overall design remains subject to change.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll give them a try.

If we can get it to float, and hold together structurally, it could be a fun thought experiment. And it's certainly a tall task as far as drawing practice, although it's looking rather well-drawn already.
