Hell, we can't afford to buy batteries for that Kilo sub, who's been sitting in dock for the last 20 years or so. Guess they'll scrap it soon, or buy some decent CIWS and SSM for those two 22's which are sitting ducks in case of an attack, let alone afford a new type of ship. But this is my fantasy, right? :))

Well, ace, you're right about that. That's why I chose French radar technology and the cheapest possible weapons technology, being well aware of Romania's ties with, for instance France and Israel. Maybe that's the way to go to be more realistic.

And a more decent modernization proposal for Marasesti. Soviet radars and weapons removed, added an Elta EL/M-2238 for 3d search, a Variant radar for surface search and targeting, a pair of STING directors for the RAM and the gun, ECM sensors, a pair of Harpoons midship, a Phalanx aft, the ubiquitous 76 mm Otto Melara gun and a nice RAM launcher. Also American torpedo tubes in stead of the old soviet ones. Guess this is a pretty decent solution, although I doubt the Marasesti will ever be updated...

As you might know, there are two unfinished hulls of the Tetal II class corvettes somewhere in Mangalia Military Shipyard. This is just a proposal in case one of those hulls might ever be completed. Smart S mk II radar, with 2 STING director,SABRE EW system, Goalkeeper and Otto 76 mm plus 4 Harps and Mica VL from the Sylver A35 launcher which might just fit behind the CIWS. Also the Puma Naval in the new color scheme.

the sylver launcher will not fit behind the goalkeeper (look in the belowdeck parts thread why, the GK can no longer be reloaded if it is fitted there)
also, may I suggest the updated drawing of the oto melara 76?
IIRC, the sabre is fitted mostly on larger ships and all I know of have 2 of them fitted, for both forward and aft arcs. you should check this maybe :P

other then that, it looks good.

Switched the SABRE with the APECS II, and added a pair of Sadral launchers for Mistral in stead of the MICA VL. Guess it's good enough for such a small ship.

the APECS II is fitted on similar ships as the SABRE, and was also fitted fore and aft, so 2 on ships. it is only an slightly older system.

Can I just leave it without EW/ECM then? :)

You can, but ECM is your best defence as it stands

the ALTESSE seems to be an option.... it is not drawn in sb yet though. otherwise, the VIGILE family.
