ok, I've raised the SPY antennas as high as I dare. Is this now to high? It is a nuke so bottom weight should make this ok...Right?? Also I would still love to hear your guys thoughts on the aft director house

I would absolutely 100% not allow a ship this large to have any less than four SPG-62. Otherwise, I like the new arrangement.

I made a slightly more detailed version of the SPY radars for the North Point DDGs: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/161 ... 202007.png

Feel free to use it. I won't vouch for it as something worthy of a real design drawing, but for an AU it shouldn't matter.

Nice. I agree with Erik on the SPG-62s, and I'd like you to please replace the out of date drawings of the SM-2MR, SM-2ER, and Tomahawk with the ones on the USN Parts Sheet.

Ugh. The aft SPY installation now looks horrible. Please revert back to the previous one.

Also, agreed on the SPG-62 issue. This ship should have room for six of em, not three and change.

And with six I mean that it has enough beam that you can put two besides each other, and the rearward one on the raised platform, so they're arranged in a triangular pattern.

If you're going to make a ship that has enough VLS for two Ticos, you might as well give it serious fire control capabilities.

thank you all for the suggestions, I really like the idea of 6 fire control directors. So I tried it. I like it except I wish the middle ones were a bit lower, but I cant do it any lower

The two pairs of rear SPG-62 can be a little offset each other. But with 6 SPG-62 and one SPG-60 you have a real powerful ship, perhaps the best Aegis AAW cruiser. This thing can guide simultaneously more than 24 missiles.

Also you can add two more pairs of Mk36 SBROC in front superstucture (one each side).

I like the redesigned superstructure quite a bit. One question, though. Why the 4-2 split for the missile directors? Perhaps having the directors on top of the bridge superstructure in a triangular formation with 2 side by side forward and one aft would allow for a 3-3 split. It would also allow you to eliminate the highest aft director.

You honestly shouldn't be too concerned about the aesthetics of the ship - because the USN wouldn't be. They just care about having an effective warship that can serve the specified mission.
