I think the black outlines look best, the light grey just seems odd against the blue. Also the cockpit windows are still black so there's inconsistency there. A really dark grey might look ok but, you might just as well stick with the black.

Really like those C-9's!

To play the devil, I like the windows with silver/gray borders even though they don't follow the standard. It seems to me for the sake of "realism" it might be appropriate for some aircraft/vehicles.

I also like the metallic underside treatment! May have to try it on my B-36D...but I just got really motivated on something else....
