my only comment is that the main guns have had their drawing replaced, here is the county with the correct 4.5in guns: http://www.shipbucket.com/images.php?di ... 201963.png
:?: :? I'm quite confused. This excellent Hood drawing is the base I've did PNS Babur from, and the guns from HMS Kent are not altered at all.
BTW thanks for your comments. Still I hope for some help to my two mentioned issues ;)

Edited Sorry Ace! I've discovered what you mean. Apparently my base is the HMS Kent before finally uploading. I must admit that you got sharp eyes. I haven't seen the difference my self. THANKS :D
hood has updated his HMS kent after it's initial upload with the new guns after I redrew them (hence why I recognise them so easily :P )

Excellent drawing Kim, and a good start for 2014.
The radar in question is Type 278M (there was no visual difference between it and the 277M, the the Type 278M had "solid state" electronics - that means transistors and such as opposed to, the than, common practice of using tubes)
Updated drawing of the radar

Thank you all, both for praises and help. The first post is now updated with the Type 278 radar and I consider the County class PNS Babur for completed. I have now started to construct (based on MikoshiK's and Bezobrazov's F171 HMS Active) the third Babur. She is a Type 21 class frigate, in Pakistan known as Tariq class. I expect to show her later tomorrow. At least as a WIP ;)

Very nice work.
Not heard of an 278M but it would be the same antenna I think. The new parts look really great on here (the proof of the pudding is when you see them on a full drawing). I must get around to updating the Counties and Leanders again. Just wondering how they guided the Sea Cats, did they revert to optical guidance rather than director guidance?

I was wondering the same, the only actual directors remaining (apart from the search radars and the heightfinder) are the 992 and the MRS 3 forward. the chinese guns replace the directors which served as the seacat direction.

Jane's Fighting Ships 1990-91 says: "In 1988 the flight deck was extended aft and hangar enlarged to carry up to four Sea King helicopters. At the same time two twin 37 mm guns replaced the Seacat directors (although the launchers remain in place)...". The enlargement of hangars may be internal because it isn't outside visible. The flight deck extension is very visible though ;)

perhaps they managed it due to the removal of those missiles. that would give them some room. I'll bet the hangar goes from the main deck to partially down to the area where the missiles was.
