It's a long winded vessel type description, however this is the proposed vessel that is intended to replace the HMNZS Resolution and HMNZS Manawanui.

A small excerpt ...

Design Background
1.1. The RNZN currently operates the HMNZS Resolution which was launched in 1989 for the role of hydrographic survey and the HMNZS Manawanui which was launched in 1969 for the role of dive support. Due to the age of these vessels and their planned decommissioning the RNZN requires a new vessel to undertake their respective roles. As proposed in the 2010 Defence White Paper both of these vessels will be replaced with a single Littoral Warfare Support Capability (LWSC) vessel.

I think Sailor used this as a source.

Yes I did. Actually it's the only reference that I could find. I like it because it seems, based on the design, to be simple yet effective. It remains to be seen if the Kiwi's follow through with it.

Changes I'd make:
  • The shading (everywhere) just seems off. When in doubt, reduce to standards, and then work up from there. Stuff like the Alaska, up through Marjorie C. is a good basis
  • You've got a lot of areas where you don't have black lines that you should. move things (like the gangway) around slightly if you need to to avoid the double-black line issue.
  • The windows are certainly non-standard.

This is a really great start and with the refinements suggested by my peers, I feel that this will evolve to be a great drawing.

Interesting indeed. Some (suggested above) small changes and it will be fine.

One other thing I'd change, is I'd revert to the render of the screws rather than the edge-on view you have now.
