Some ships I've made for my friend's AU, Epicnopolis, on NationStates.
For the Epicnopolian Navy.

So far I have two ships completed, an amphibious command ship and a guided missile destroyer.

First, the Neptuno-class Amphibious Command and Control Ship (based on Rabid Stoat's flight deck Burke design).

And then the Densky-class guided missile destroyer (ground up personal design with some SB parts including the armaments and the keel by MihoshiK).

The command ship is designed mostly for command and control with a limited troop deployment role with a small well deck. It can also serve as a director for AEGIS operations in the battle group with which it is deployed. The flags on the ships are as follows:
  • The Gold & Teal flag at the top of both masts is the Epicnopolian flag, and the small flags on the stern are the Epicnopolian naval ensign.
  • The green flag on the command ship is the flag of MDISC, the NS alliance both his and my AUs are in.
  • The banner sporting the colors of the South African flag are service ribbon standards for both ships' service in an NS RP war.
Feel free to submit any questions, feedback, evaluations, and anything you have to offer here.

what is this I don't even

...this ship looks like a headache. To say that it's suffering from muddled mission syndrome is a massive understatement. Trying to modify a DDG-51 hull into an amphibious assault ship is even more of a headache. Note that Blue Ridge has at best limited actual amphibious assault capability - it is almost strictly a command ship. I don't know why you'd need such a massive radar system and AEGIS unless the former is supposed to be some sort of satellite uplink system - and I was generally under the impression that such a massive setup is wildly obsolete nowadays (look at your neighbor's DirecTV or Dish Network setup). You also don't have any hangars. A ship like this not only needs a hangar, but can benefit from having a very large one. Also the ROF on the Mk 110 is sufficient enough that you only need one (this is true of nearly every naval gun built since 1980).

All points taken.

Addressing your points:
  • Well Deck deleted entirely
  • AEGIS deleted
  • Massive radar thing at the top deleted, replaced with long-range radar.
  • The dual Mk110s are there for saturation attacks if needed to support operations or for in-a-pinch defense against other ships (though the LCC would be escorted)
  • Helico hangar is actually below deck
If there are any other issues you see don't hesitate to bring them up, as I will be sure to address them all.

Also any feedback on the Densky would be very welcome.

if you want the Densky to be stealthy, then giving it so many angular facets is not the way to do it.

"Saturation" attacks with 57mm? You'd be better off with 76mm imho or larger..

I'd love to see a system capable of intercepting some 100 odd miniscule targets per minute. Especially when you consider the range.

I saw 57mm saturation in some DDX demonstration video where it was used to "mop up" after an AGS attack. Apparently the DDX is supposed to carry two 57mm as a secondary armament. Also the command ship has fire support only as a secondary role, so I wouldn't have anything larger on it.

To what if anything are you referring?

In order to saturate a defence system (Long, medium and short ranged missiles plus CIWS) you have to attakc faster than the defence can defend.
So, if you need more than one Mk 110 to saturate your enemy's defence system, it must be able to engage and defeat more than one hundred targets per minute. And not only that, it'll only have a few miles over which to do so.

Oh, crap, you know what, I should have been clearer.

We are thinking of two totally different meanings of "saturation" attacks. You are thinking of overwhelming anti-ship attacks. I am thinking of shore bombardment by "saturating" land targets with shelling. Once sea and air supremacy has been gained in the area, the command ship could pull up near the shore, though far away enough to avoid getting stuck, and fire its 57mm guns at designated land targets.
