Great work, a lesser known ship but one I've always liked the looks of.

She's looking good :) You might also consider a lighter edge around the deck to indicate the slight curve onto the deck, but that is a personal preference.

I've added a line of lighter grey along the deck edge. Not sure there's enough contrast though.
Also, I'd really like some feedback on the mortar. Should I use black or dark grey lines for the panels?

And as usual, a hard reload may be necessary to see the updated drawing

Nice drawing!! As already said: it's nice to see some "modern" French ships (I say "modern" because she was planned to be decommissioned after 2004 initially).

Just a little mistake: the Aconit is not a F67 class but a F65 (previous C65) class.

In details, the Aconit was the first (and only) ship of the C65 class. She was accepted in active service in March 1973, with hull number F703.
In January 1974, the hull number was changed to D609.

In 1988, the C65 class became the F65 class.

The F67 class (previously C67) was the Tourville ASW destroyer class, wich design took in considerations the problems of the C65/F65 class.

About the Aconit, her early decommissioning meant that the fourth Lafayette class' ship Jauréguiberry changed her name in Aconit in order to keep this great name in service (it's a shame we lose this tradition when the Jeanne d'Arc went off service last year  ).
If the D609 was decommissioned in 2004 as planned, it's very plausible that the name went to a Horizon AAW destroyer.

Sometimes I want to beat people with a stick. ;)
I have spent several hour on the Malafon, trying to make it look right and along comes Paul and does it in five minutes.

I'll update the drawing shortly.

Yeah, I have that drawing. That's not the problem.
The problem is the scale. Any idiot can trace. It's the exact placement of the individual pixels that separates people like Turkishnavyguy from Darth Panda.
In this case, I've spent about three hours moving one pixel at a time without getting it right.

That's how I feel about my earlier Malafon.
Seems that the T-47 class ships will have to be redone - BY ME OF COURSE
