Today it was announced that Norway is going to get a new 700 man strong professional unit that is a fast responding unit. build on the same model as the existing Telemarks Battalion. The Force is going to use Leopard 2's and CV90 and other equipment. The force name will be HRS North. the unit will work on both Norwegian soil but also under NATO command.

One of the many reason to start a new unit like this is:
- Equipment is starting to get so advance that you need expensive training to handle it
- The cost for training up an (for example): Leopard 2 driver is so expensive that...

The unit is expected to be up and going in 2017

Glad to hear, with the increase of limited conflicts similar to Libya, another 'rapid reaction force' is welcome.

I think I could make a good go starting up a Leopard 2, after that a tank is a tank, IMHO i was a pretty good Challenger 2 driver

We are at bit Lucky UP Here since we already have all The equipment we need in store. Since we keept many og ou'r tanks and other equipment from when we was a lot bigger... But new guns doesn't hurt.

And now we are sending an frigate to Syria for escorting transport vessels. that gives Norway two vessels on duty, international.

and now the army is also starting up an another special force with only woman's in. the army have invited 2000 woman's, for trail to an unit that shall stat up in 2015.
all these woman's are already active in the army, or in another units in the military.

so lads, get ready to meat woman's that literally can kick you'r ass.

It looks like The Royal Norwegian military is getting closer to it's goal: "have an modern, highly trained, fully professional army." or as someone in the military said: "Have the best military force in the world. if every military in the world was of the same size!".
