finally, an real design from me. perfectionism isn't an good thing if you want to do real designs, they take so damn long before they are perfect
the rotterdam class LPD was the first LPD of the Royal Netherlands Navy. commissioned in 1998, she had her 15 birthday this year, and in those 15 years she has been all over the world. to me, this is the most beautiful of all LPD class vessels, and the shipbucket drawing on the main site bugged me for ages. coming across an perfect reference (her official general arrangement plan) I decided to redraw her completely.
I have drawn 2 versions: version one is not how she actually has looked, but it is close. It is the paintjob she had while being build at the yard, but at the end of construction her colours were changed to the dark grey hull we know.
to conclude this post I include the 2 cranes on board (of which only one is clearly visible, the other one is behind it on the other side)
please take a good look at her, I am open to any comments to improve the drawings, or corrections for mistakes I made (I am sure there are 2 or 3 always, if you look at the same ship for months sometimes you miss something)
thanks for looking/reading!
