What if the VC10 was in service with Olympic Airways and Cyprus Airways?
Note that the 'Super 1165' is a fictional variant of mine based on real Vickers proposals to BOAC (8.2m longer that the standard one, number of seats was esimated by plans I aquired by e-mail from the owner of a site dedicated to VC10.Proporsions of the 1165 are based to the 1101/1154 models). In mid 1980's in all hellenic VC10s engines were modified for lower noise and smoke. The program add noise insulation layer to engine's pods externally and after modifications to fuel chambers their RR Conways are almost smokeless.
Last airworthy ex OA VC10 Super-200 was the SX-DCF,converted to VIP.This airframe was grounded in 2008 due to fatigue, its last flight was for the Air Museum of the Kingdom.
Some of OA VC10s passed to another airline company in HLK which continued to fly them until early 2000's (3 airframes),while CA used them for about 30 years in transoceanic/long haul routes due to its long legs.
CA (AU) was also the last user of Hawker Trident (1960-1992) and flied the BAC 1-11 until well into the 2000's in short haul routes (Middle East and Hellenic Kingdom)
The Super VC.10 of OA passed to RHAF as tankers and theu are still in service, but the Air Force is looking to the A330 MRTT.
Current fleet of CA (AU) consists of Airbus A330,A320/321,R-212 and ATR-72,while OA (AU) current fleet consists of A340,A330,A319/320/321,R212-100/200,DHC Bash 8 (100/300/400).
