recently I finally found the time to read through my copy of Friedman's British Destroyers & Frigates. On page 167 and 168 I came across an 1954 design for an super daring design armed with the bofors 120 which was then just fitted on the dutch A jagers, and the Y.102 COSAG powerplant. this intruged me, so I decided to fit these to the shipbucket daring drawing...... which I found to be severely lacking.
after that I pm'ed hood if there was an newer one somewhere...... and long story short, it ended in him redrawing the 1949 daring class quite excellent. after that, I could just not stop myself from doing an full drawing of the 3 arnament layouts proposed. it has become an great joint project between hood and me, sharing knowledge and ideas to the point that these drawings emerged.

I am not entirely certain how to name these 5 files for the upload session, I'd like suggestions.......

I hope you guys like it, and feel free to comment. (P.S. I kept these drawings a bit bare because I found my own knowlegde on british ships a bit lacking still, if anybody wants to fully detail them, go ahead ;) )

corrected, all flush decked version on page 2! please look at those as the above are considered

Yikes, 2x3 120mm auto, Limbo, and 12 long TT? That's a hell of a destroyer.

the 3 turret design with which they started was considered too large though, the 2 turret variant was seen as the most optimal one. still, if we compare it with the dutch and US destroyers of the time...... these ships were at the very least similar in firepower, speed and range.

These look great, and large enough to refit with missiles when the time comes...

The 4318 ton design seems to have more directors than it has guns.

actually, it has the same amount. 4 MRS-3 and 1 TOM for 3 M50 and 2 40mm/70 twin. and yes, that is a lot, but it was what was listed on the references :P
