Lets see...
Updates:
-Front page got some extra bits on the 20's and 30's in preperation.
Things to do immediately:
-Finish the Leander updates.
-See where Trojan goes with the above cruisers
-Find something to draw
Thing to do eventually:
-Decide what the Company did during the Great War
-Sort out some actual ship listing for various periods.

Shells per gun, main battery: 150

Armour:
- Belts: Width (max) Length (avg) Height (avg)

Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
10,677 lbs / 4,843 Kg = 41.7 x 8.0 " / 203 mm shells or 1.2 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.62
Metacentric height 4.8 ft / 1.5 m
Roll period: 10.9 seconds
Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 53 %
- Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.24
Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 1.06

Hull form characteristics:
Hull has low quarterdeck
and transom stern
Block coefficient: 0.550
Length to Beam Ratio: 10.07 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 27.18 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 58 %
Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 50
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): 0.00 degrees
Stern overhang: 0.00 ft / 0.00 m
Freeboard (% = measuring location as a percentage of overall length):
- Stem: 20.00 ft / 6.10 m
- Forecastle (20 %): 20.00 ft / 6.10 m
- Mid (50 %): 20.00 ft / 6.10 m
- Quarterdeck (20 %): 12.00 ft / 3.66 m (20.00 ft / 6.10 m before break)
- Stern: 12.00 ft / 3.66 m
- Average freeboard: 18.40 ft / 5.61 m
Ship tends to be wet forward

Ship space, strength and comments:
Space - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 116.7 %
- Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 192.3 %
Waterplane Area: 23,772 Square feet or 2,208 Square metres
Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 117 %
Structure weight / hull surface area: 95 lbs/sq ft or 464 Kg/sq metre
Hull strength (Relative):
- Cross-sectional: 1.01

I've been inspecting the Leanders, and have done something quite mean to Trojan's rather nice refits... I've refitted them :P
Basically I thought that a 3 refit service life was too much, as was the electronics refit, and when looking into it I found some of it unnecessary, so here we go. See below for refits/changes to refit:
[ img ]
Okay, so:
-Gained Type 992 air search/target finding radar. This left us without surface search so...
-Left the LW-02 as is. Expensive to replace and it will do what we want.
-The WM-2X (with an extra number) for extra targeting and weapon direction.
That's all the changes to electronics which are necessary I believe. Moving on...
-Added Exocet, Phalanx block 1 (in lieu of Sea cat), Torpedoes, Blowpipe AA missiles, a pair of GAM-BO1's. It's a serious upgunning. All makes some sense, though whether exocet is really necessary I'm unsure of...
-Countermeasures stayed where they are. It's a good spot and leaves the after section a little less cluttered.

I think that's all of it...
Tell me what you think guys.

the WM and the type 992 do about the same thing. the type 992 has some more search function, but you have the LW for that :P
btw, may I ask to use this turret? it's more accurate then the one you have now....

I am not entirely certain about that bofors mortar forward.

So... could the WM sit on the fore mast? Otherwise we're gonna have a bare mast ^^

I will change the turret, I didn't know there ha been an updated one.

I am entirely sure about it, because it looks pretty and hush. It's functional, we're pretty sure. It's gonna be hella wet yes, but still...

well, it has an magazine, and I do not know if there is place for it, let alone structural strength to put it there. that is more what I wonder about then wetness :P

and yeah, the WM could be on the mast, IIRC it is there on for example the wielingen class.

Honestly? I think there is. The hull still has almost its entire beam there, with only the beginnings of the curve to the bows. And there is plenty of below deck space for a magazine in my opinion.
Of course, if I'm wrong, I'm wrong...

I'll pop the WM on the mast then. Seems a fun place for it and it further reduces the cost of refit (Yay!). The Board of directors will be pleased...

well, leanders are known for an very narrow bow section (the gun was pushed as far forward as it would go) but the main reason why I think it would not fit, is because there was nothing there on the deck. anything that was in the hull over there had to be removed and placed somewhere else......

Going off of Mc Spoilt Bastards Van Speijk designs, which are admittedly a few years old now, he actually mounted the same mortar even further forwards. Concerns were raised about utility as ASROC was present, but not about issues with space inside the hull.
