Here is my worklist. Many of you have seen entirely Ships-of-the-Line on this page for some time. I still intend to tackle as many as I can, although I now plan to tackle more than just Ships of the Line. Below, you [the reader] will see not just ships of the line but much more!

To those who are curious: I will still be utilizing the Real Designs discussion board under the title "French Ships-of-the-Line," as well as on the Never-Built Designs discussion board, where it will be listed as "French Ships-of-the-Line (Sadly Never Built)." (Whenever I decide to get back to drawing in SB Scale.)

Here's a sample format of how the ships will be listed:

Country of Origin
  • Ship's Name [Rate OR Class] Month & Year Depicted → special note (scale used)

Scales Used:
  • FD Scale (22.093px to 1m)
  • SB Scale (2px to 1ft)

Planned / WIP / Finished (they are linked)

First and foremost, sorry for my few month delay on an actual post for these vessels. Other than that, I am happy with what I came up with for this first post. I hope you guys like it as much as I had!

Here is the French First Rate Ship-of-the-line:

The Royal Louis (of 1759)

The Royal Louis was a 116-gun ship-of-the-line of the Royal French Navy, designed in 1757 by a Frenchman by the name of Jacques-Luc Coulomb and constructed in 1757 to 1762 by Laurent Coulomb at Brest Dockyard. She was the fourth ship to bear the name, and the only ship of the Sans-Pareil (Will draw soon) design ever built.

Sadly this vessel never saw service and in 1771 was noted to have become very “deteriorated beyond repair.” Therefore, in 1773 she was broken up.

Edit: I fixed up some lines and corrected the date I originally had (May 1759) and replaced it with the date that the ship was completed (July 1762).

Thank you all for your patient wait as I took a long time pushing this vessel out. I have more to come soon.

Beautiful drawing!

But while here's the right place for workLISTS, the right place for WORK from such lists is rather Real Designs Forum:
viewforum.php?f=12

(unless it's an unbuilt project or own design, of course)

Ah! Okay, good to know. I will be sure to post others there too. Thanks a ton! And yes, spent months making sure it was correct, so I am happy the vessel came out beautiful! :D

A very warm welcome, and indeed a beautiful drawing. Very well done, and hoping to see more of your work soon.
