Hello, First time post here on this great forum and i got a question. Currently i am developping a flash game based on an old Wings of fury game. The game is a straightforward (non-commercial) shooter game with naval and plane assets. (you launch from a carrier with a plane and try to bomb/torpedo a ship in a hail of bullets) I very much like the graphical images being made here at shipbucket and would like to use them in the game itself as moving objects. Proper credit will be given in the credits section of my game regarding all images used. I hope none of you has any objections against the use of your images. I will be mainly using some plane images and japanes/american carriers/destroyers/cruiser images. Hope you all like the idea and if permitted will post the link of the final game here on the forum. regards, Gijs van Schouwen |

So would you be making profit with this game? |

Yes, its the old Wof game from c64 (or amiga, it has been produced on a lot of formats) The game will be (hopefully) posted on the armorgames website and is free to play. I am not receiving any money for it. It could win a prize on that website, with money involved, but that is unlikely (since this is my first game). If that would happen, we can discuss any compensation related to the efforts involved making the shipbucket images. But its first intent is not a commercial use. grtz, Gijs |

If you credit it properly and its nonprofit production then i see no reason to deny it. But this is just generall approval, I would appriciate that you would ask each artist whose images you plan to use seperatly. (I can help contacting them though) If it would be possible, I could take a peak of some sort of beta version of the game before it goes out to check everything is done Ok...would that be possible? |

The project is still in concept phase at the moment now, unsure which ships and planes i will use. But i will post a link to my website containing a beta version when it's presentable. But it's an amateur project so don't expect it the coming months. grtz, Gijs |

gijs, are you dutch? there are quite a few dutchies out here, so that might help you..... that said, I would like to help out, if needed, with shipbucket or other sprites. it has to be said though, that there aren't that much japanese ships drawn yet, so you might want to build an 'japanese campaing' first, so you don't need those too much. but, if you need aircraft/carrier/ ship graphics which aren't drawn yet, I might be able to help out, and it would be an good experience for me too, as I might become an game artist in the future. |

Yes, I am Dutch. Thanks for the help, but at the moment i have all the help i need. I will keep it in mind. I will probably only use a few images, not the full database of shipbucket! I'm programming in flash and need to keep the filesize down. I will only be using 1 or 2 CV, 1 DD, 1 CA and 1 BB. grtz, Gijs |
