After finally coming to the conclusion that using google images wasn't going to work and using facebook for image hosting, after a small search I came upon this super easy image hosting site called Img safe.

I've found it to be wonderful for uploading my pictures/drawings and my older laptop doesn't freeze or lag unlike imageshack or photobucket does.

Honestly aside from the filename issues Imgur seems to be the best option if you don't have Dropbox. I've never used Img Safe so can't comment unfortunately.
