A rather speculative question.

We know the names of the CVA-01 ships but not the pennant numbers.
I want to make an educated guess and float some ideas.

Ark Royal was R09, deck letter R
Eagle was R05, deck letter E
Victorious was R23 then R38, deck letter V
Hermes was R12, deck letter H
Albion was R07, letter A
Bulwark was R08, letter B
Centaur had been R06

The three Invincibles were:
Invincible, R05, deck letter N
Illustrious, R06, deck letter L
Ark Royal, R07, deck letter R

It's odd the Invincibles did not restart at R01 but reused the mid-section of the allocations. Hermes was out of sequence too, there being no R10 and R11 was Indefatigable.

Would CVA-01 and CVA-02 have been R03 and R04 or re-used Ark's pennant R-09 and assigned R-10? Or would they (as we've depicted them in the past) be R01 and R02?
My guesses to deck codes would be Q for Queen Elizabeth and E for Duke of Edinburgh.

Would R01 to R04 been saved for ships Admiralty expected to build of a CVA size?

Deck letters of Q and E would be reasonable and consistent.

I can't think of any pennant numbers, but for the deck lettering I concur with Q for Queen Elizabeth but Duke of Edinburgh could be D, as it wasn't used before, it would be consistent with the other carrier (having Q for Queen, so D for Duke), and E was still being used by Eagle.
BTW HMS Centaur was R06 with the deck code letter C

I stay with R01 and R02, a clean sweep for a new generation.
Deck letters will be Q and E. My reasoning is that D might be confused for Q at long ranges and in any case Eagle will be gone by the time DoE commissions.


Another random question.
Does anyone know how LOX systems aboard aircraft are refuelled aboard carriers? Are they topped up by trollies?
The reason I ask is because in the base of the island there is a LOX ready-use store. Would this be used to top up trollies which then refuel the aircraft on deck or would it be direct refuelling via hoses while the aircraft is refuelling and rearming on the Alaskan Highway? I'm tempted for the later but not sure how feasible this would be. Whichever method is going to affect what details I draw in part of the island.

I suspect it would be the former. I believe the US Navy has purpose-built carts for this purpose which carry either oxygen or nitrogen cylinders, although I'm not sure about what equipment the Royal Navy might have used. In terms of safety it seems more prudent to have a cart to tow out to the aircraft in question rather than having a LOX hose draped across the flight deck where it could be damaged.
