Hi, I'm looking for information on the boxed items on the photo, I'd like to know if the red boxed range-finder or gun director was a permanent addition, as it was there in Scapa Flow 1919, (if so when was it installed?) or was it a training aid? red box: for me it looks like an small local director, mounted on the turret. perhaps to aid the turret. blue box: looks like extra ventilation for that turret, perhaps they had some problem with ventilation in that turret. purple box: you can clearly see markings on the hull off water that have been flowing there. so it might be a part of that. (pumping out spillage water, excess water in boiler, water that might penetrate trough the gun ring, pumping out bilge water, etc.) |
