I got hooked as a lurker on Shipbucket courtesy of Redhorse and the Republic of Texas AU. I was curious if the upcoming World of Warships has any interest to the normal participants of this board.

To be fair, I have seen WoT gameplay and such, and have friends who played it, and they say that the CTB of War Thunder is far superior to that.
So, I don't hold out much luck for Navy, but it will be interesting to hear some things about it (such as someone being able to one-shot an Iowa class with a little Royal Navy C-Class)

I have seen videos from it, and as it show, they would all have an health system just like in WoT.
I personally don't like War Thunder. and I have never had problem in WoT. In WoT you need to expect the unexpected. but if you talk about thee team killing system, well today the system is build up in such way that if you team kill someone in you''r team, you get you'r account automatically banned. even if you just put an warning shot in to you'r teammate.
But then WoT and War thunder is two totally different game. it's like comparing milk with cofe, the milk is not hot and black...

That's the thing, War Thunder in "Arcade" is just that, almost no limits to turning ability of planes, "Realistic" do you have to worry about bits falling off, or guns jamming, Simulator is right down to the cockpit.
As for tanks at the moment, no real difference between all 3 modes, as it's still beta, but I get what you mean, from what I have seen of the "World of ... " series, they are more to get you to pay for "Golden Ammo" to do damage to people, where as in War Thunder, the "Gold" currency is for speedier unlocks be it via premium time, or buying outright.

the biggest problem is people going around calling you for an gold noob. either you have thee money or not. I only use gold ammo to secure or if need to defeat my opponent fast. or I am just going up against an tank I can't penetrate.
but then you have the British FV215b (183) (aka the "Death star", the only tank that can one shoot any tank in WoT without needing to ammo-rack it)
I'm not particularly interested... mainly because ships aren't (in my opinion) something that can be simmed in the same way as a plane or tank (max 4-5 occupants).
Once you read the history in any depth (especially of World War II naval combat), no video game can accurately portray it unless it's a hardcore sim...

They've been pushing and teasing this game for months now...seriously doubt it'll come out at all. Yes, the CGI is very nice and all, but I'll believe it when I see it on the shelves. Personally, I'm waiting for this one instead: http://www.titanichg.com/
