Post subject: | Contact Question |
Hello! I'm new to the forums and hope to be a contributor here as well as in the drawings section. However, being new, I cannot send PMs. That being so, what would people recommend as a means for me to send suggested corrections to people? I'd much rather do so privately rather than publicly. Thank you. |

Hi & welcome. The exact purpose of this forum is actually for people to give and recieve feedback from their SB drawings alongside the actuall idea of posting them drawings, and Im pretty sure everyone of us is toughskinned enough to take public feedback as in our best capacity (And if not, then there is indeed great time to practice it). So don't be afraid to give your ideas/opinions out. |

Fair enough In which case, here goes:Under Real Designs / Canada / DDH-280 Athabaskan.png - the illustration is of HMCS Athabaskan post-TRUMP (1990s). However, when the 280-class came out of the TRUMP program, they were re-designated as missile destroyers, so she should be listed as a DDG. (ref: http://www.navy-marine.forces.gc.ca/en/ ... -tech.page?) Also, since her pennant number is 282, the file ought to be DDG-282 Athabaskan.png Picky, I know. The other one is Real Designs/Canada/PGH Bras Dor.png; the designation PGH is unfamiliar to me? She was designated as a Fast Hydrofoil Escort or FHE, with the pennant number 400 (Hence, "The Flying 400" title of the book about her). Thank you, and I very much look forward to contributing more than nit-picking |

That probably is my sloppiness in saving the individual files. Or maybe it happened during upload. I really don't know. I believe, however, they are correctly designated in the credit lines. So, if you can just live with the file name (heck, change it on your own copy! I've done that several times with other artists' work!, so no harm doing that, right!?) |

I just had a look at them, and there's nothing on the actual drawing for either to say what class they are. The pic of Athabaskan does have her correctly titled as HMCS, but Bras d'Or doesn't, and she was a commissioned ship, not an auxiliary. I'm more than willing to download the images and apply the changes but I think that would be just a bit presumptuous on my part; the original artists ought to have first crack at any changes, in my view.
