Post subject:  Question to Admins

Longtime lurker here. After seeing your impending difficulties with Photobucket, I spoke to Mike, who is the creator, moderator and administrator at the World War 2 Cruisers and Battleships site.

http://www.world-war.co.uk/

All his images are on his own server, so (I think) he can keep constant scale for all the relevant images now here. If it is possible and desirable for Shipbucket images to be posted there, he is interested.

I will not show pictures that are held externally - all images etc must be on my server

I am very flexible about how we should show these - they could have their own set of pages, or embed them where appropriate - whatever makes most sense

I guess I need to know how many we are talking about

quality needs to be high please

regards .. Mike

If not interested, please say to me here.

We are using dropbox, imageshack or other IMG sides and they work great. Specially dropbox where (If you are one of those that sign in early enough) got you'r own map on you'r computer where you can save all you'r "IMG" into and it will automatically upload it to dropbox.com web-side. But sadly they have gone from that now so those that sign up today will not get that map, but it still works good.

We are not looking for a new host at the present time. While the new difficulties with photobucket are problematic, they are not critical to the continued operation of the Shipbucket community.

Images posted to the forum by individual artists by their very nature use a free image host (Photobucket, Dropbox, etc). The Shipbucket staff has no control over this.

The archive itself (of shipbucket images available on shipbucket.com) will remain hosted by us. Thanks for the offer but we are not interested in moving the archive anywhere else.
