All,

Would like to come up with a Shipbucket logo of sorts. The one we have for the forum is fine, but I'd like a unifying "brand" that can work across the site, forum, Facebook, and Twitter. I think it's important to be consistent amongst this things as we have several different variations of the Shipbucket "theme" which are floating around, and none of them make sense when considered together.

Problem is that I haven't done graphic design in ages, and am totally stumped. So would appreciate any suggestions, or completed logos if people would like.

Would like to keep the font families narrowed down to Georgia (as on the main site), and possibly Futura, DIN, or Helvetica if you think it's appropriate. Use of Comic Sans will result in a permanent ban (and I mean it).

Thanks everyone.

Logos should be simple and not have more than 1 or 2 contrasting colors. Putting ships behind would just jumble everything up and make it look unprofessional.

I know you said no ships, but I thought I'd throw this in for at least a brief consideration. I'm no graphic designer, so this is the best I could do. And I didn't use Comic Sans, either, so cut me a little slack.

Problem is, all of the content has to be 100% royalty free. A plane text logo meets that requirement, as does one where the image that is rendered is one that an artist allows to be used in the logo - such as our current one here on the forum.

I'm opposed to choosing "one ship" for the logo as well.

I like the idea!
... I like a simple design: it shows competence!
I would add just a naval symbol, maybe an anchor.

I had a go at a design but I'm still not happy with the superstructure
