Post subject:  Question about Sonar

I based my DDG Lysandros Class on USN Belknap Class, but I do not know which sonar to use.As I know,Knox Class had the SQS-26CX and Spruance/Kidd the SQS-53A.Which sonar the Belknar and Leahy Classes used!Does anyone know something?

And the Kortenaer/Elli Frigates have the Westinhouse Canada SQS-505,am I right?

the Belknap class mounted the SQS-26BX which gets deployed just about everywhere. The Leahy class mounted the SQS-23, which is currently undergoing some revision as more info is being dug up.

If you use the SQS-26 bow dome, then use one with the grey rubber dome window as the steel dome window was used for a limited period of time (only about ten years). However if you are using it prior to 1970, then the steel dome is the proper one to use.

Edit: For clarity and accuracy.

The SQS-23 and the older SQS-19 were known to RHN since Gearings,Allen M.Sunmer, Fletchers and Kimon used them.
Now,DDG Lysandros was commisioned in 1973 and sistership Euriviades in 1975.What other choices about sonar do I have?
Can I use the dome of Charles F.Adams Class?

The bow dome installation of SQS-23 (see DDG-20) seems most likely to me, perhaps with rubber windows. SQS-26 really was designed explicitly to take advantage of conditions in the North Atlantic (deep, cold water with a fairly smooth bottom), and sonar conditions in the Med simply aren't the same.

SQS-56 might also be an option. It depends on how much you care about ASW. SQS-23 was considered superior in 1975.

SQS-23 as Kimon Class had and after modernisation all ships (Lysandros and Kimon) have the Raytheon DE1191,a digital development of the SQS-23.
