In my opinion, and particularly for Ocean liner drawings, there should always be a version of the drawing without lifeboats. I say this because the version with no lifeboats would allow one to see the work put into the details of the deckhouses or superstructure that would usually be behind them. I mean it's a waste of effort for one to do the details of these parts of the ship only for it to be obscured from view by the lifeboats.
