The Navy ship "Hesperides" in Rio de Janeiro complete the first stage of
scientific circumnavigation of the Earth

The ship has traveled 4,500 miles, took samples from the Atlantic to 4,000 meters
depth and has launched the first buoy to a collaborative project with the Agency
European Space


The Spanish navy ship Hesperides, has docked in Rio de Janeiro after completed
first phase of its scientific circumnavigation campaign for global change study
and biodiversity in the ocean "Malaspina 2010 '.

In the early morning hours of jueves13, the oceanographic research vessel (BIO)
'Hesperides' landfall in the Guanabara Bay to be docked at the commercial dock
the city of Rio de Janeiro at 09:00 am local time, 12.00 Spanish time.
There has been received by the defense attache in Brazil, Marine Colonel

The Navy frigate "Almirante Juan de Borbón 'second unit of the Spanish frigates
F-100 put to sea on January 3 to join, during the first half of
2011, in a carrier group in the United States Navy for a
deployment of cooperation.

The group will consist of the new aircraft carrier George H. W. Bush, the most modern
United States Navy, and four other American ships as technology
control systems, information and weapons is similar to those of the Spanish frigate. This
technology compatibility allows for seamless integration of the 'Almirante Juan de Borbon "in
U.S. aircraft carrier group.

The purpose of the mission is to conduct an intensive training and advance units
interoperability of equipment and procedures between the Spanish frigate F-100 and
American vessels.

The deployment will consist of two phases: the first will take place between January and
February during which the group held an intensive training on the east coast of
United States. The exercises will be especially focused on the defense of all
naval force components and the coordination and implementation of common procedures
to all elements of the carrier group.

Once this first phase, the Spanish frigate is scheduled to return to
Military base at Ferrol Arsenal on 19 March.

In the second phase, the months of May and June, the frigate "Almirante Juan de Borbon"
accompany the group as navigating the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. During
transit the navy held exercises with units of the Navy of the United Kingdom and
NATO's late arrival at the Suez Canal, where the frigate "Almirante Juan de Borbon"
terminates the integration period and begin its return to Spain.

This integration is an extraordinary opportunity to share the Spanish Armada
knowledge and activities with a naval force as the United States Navy, which
has extensive experience in training and participation in all types of
scenarios.

In front of the carrier group will be the Admiral Nora Tyson, the first
Women who exercise command of a naval force of this nature in the history of
United States Navy

During the first phase of deployment, the ship will visit the ports of Norfolk and Mayport
on the east coast of the United States, the city of San Juan de Puerto Rico, and Port
Funchal in Madeira Islands.

The Oceanographic Research Vessel (BIO) of the Spanish Armada 'Hesperides', has
completed the first part of the fourth leg of his circumnavigation of the scientific
study of global climate change and biodiversity in the ocean campaign "Malaspina 2010 '.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, day 13, the BIO 'Hesperides' landfall in New
Zealand after five days of sailing. At 09.00 local time (23.00 on day 12
Spain), the 'Hesperides' is docked at the pier 'Princes Wharf' the port of Auckland,
where it will remain until Saturday 16 April.

On this stretch of five days of sailing have been shipped different personalities and
media among which was the ambassador of Spain in New Zealand
Marcos Gomez Martinez. The media, both national and international
scientific interest in this campaign have had the opportunity to see how they develop
daily work of the Malaspina Expedition.

The scale of BIO 'Hesperides' in New Zealand this port has an important role
diplomatic, as the Kingdom of Spain and New Zealand are expected to sign a new
bilateral agreement for collaboration in materials research in Antarctica, extending
and the scientific cooperation agreement signed last year.

New Zealand In this port the vessel will be performing a medley of personal and
stock up on food, fuel and other material in order to begin the second
part of the fourth stage of the Malaspina expedition that will lead to marine scientists
from Auckland to Honolulu, in Hawaii.

For 22 consecutive days of navigation, cross the Pacific Ocean where measured
the impact of pollution on the marine environment through the discharge of central
Fukushima nuclear power following the devastating earthquake that caused the evacuation last month.

The Navy BIO 'Hesperides' sailed from Cadiz on the 15th December to control the
Commander Juan Antonio Aguilar Cavanillas. Has a complement of 57 sailors
fully completed the circumnavigation of the globe. Also has shipped to 37
civilians between scientific, technical and media, which will be relieving
periodically in each of the scales that make the vessel in order to make the
different studies for each of the stages of this' Malaspina Expedition
2010

The Spanish Navy submarine 'Mistral' has sailed at noon today Dock Lift

Scale of the training ship "Juan Sebastián de Elcano 'in Lisbon

Yesterday, the training ship "Juan Sebastián de Elcano 'began his stop in the city of Lisbon.
After fifteen days of sailing the ship was docked at the pier Jardim do Snuff, a
few meters from the Praca do Comercio of the Baixa district. In their journey through the estuary
Tagus River, the 'Juan Sebastian de Elcano' greeted the plaza with 21 cannon salute
were matched from the Tower of Belem.

Spain's ambassador in Lisbon, Francisco Villar, boarded the ship of the Navy
to welcome the captain and his crew. The "Juan Sebastián de Elcano"
lusa remain in the city until next April 29. During his stay of 52
embarked midshipmen are scheduled to visit the Portuguese Naval Base

This is the seventeenth time that the 'Juan Sebastian de Elcano' visits Lisbon, his last

(Germany), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Lisbon (Portugal) after traveling over 10,000 miles.

The OPV P-72 'Centinela' participates in Dakar in the year "Saharan Express" This type of
exercise aims to improve naval capabilities of different countries
West Africa on Maritime Security.

Involved naval units Senegal, Morocco, Mauritania, Gambia, USA and Spain. The
objective is to improve the operational capabilities of various countries in West Africa.

This vessel is twin to the P-74 "Atalaya"

The frigate 'Santa Maria' relieves the 'Canaries'


The frigate 'Santa Maria' was released today at the frigate 'Canarias' on Atalanta
piracy in the Indian Ocean, in an act that has taken place in the port
