The American battlecruisers were originally authorized as 4 Constellation class ships and then they were renamed and the class became the 6 Lexingtons. The original 7 funnel design with 10x14" and the intermediate 5 funnel design with 8x16"/45 were Constellation, Constitution, Lexington, and Saratoga, CC1-4 respectively but when they became the 2 funnel design with 8x16"/50 they became Lexington, Constellation, Saratoga, Ranger, Constitution, and United States, CC1-6 respectively. The 5 funnel design is the only one that hasn't been drawn yet.
