No, sorry, I think there is some confusion.
It's play by post, i.e. text based.
My players are the ships CO, the gunnery officer, two are scout pilots, and ones an observer/gunner for the scout planes.
I'll link to it, hold on:

That's the main gameplay thread.

No absolutely not.
It's an online Play by post on another forum, using an RPG system that already exists.
Once the rules mod is complete, I'm planning on putting it up as a free download on that forum (which is a fan forum for that RPG system)
The forum is cortexsystemrpg.org
the system is the cortex system by Margaret Weiss Publishing

While I would like to use ship bucket drawings, if you would rather I didn't I wont.
well if its freeware then i think if you apply with the fair use agreement (it can be found here) there is no proplem at all for using the images. If you want to use the images outside their templates and name tags, I think you should get aproval from the each orginal artist and somehow present the credits in the production.

I'm not selling anything, full credit will be given to those who drew the ship, and the download will be free...
Why is there mention of law enforcement?
And use what against him?

well like you said, its freeware without selling, then you will be ok to use the pictures. (try to get permission from the actuall artists though, some migth have high opinion where to use their drawings)
Also remember to post here when you have finished the game so we can come and take a peak of it :)

And don't worry, the lawyer part is there for just those who wont comply with the agreement.

If I use an image, I'll ask first, promise :)
I can link to the work in progress if you like. It's currently a 5 page thread, lots of rules and such :P
Do you think I should make a new thread here? ask for input?

(that thread also has the current uploaded version. It's not complete, but it's what I have so far.)

I can rename this thread for that purpose

That'd be nice, please :)

Anyway, here is the link to the rules thread:
http://cortexsystemrpg.org/index.php?topic=5123.0
The download is at the bottom of the first post (mine)
I have the same username over there btw.
Any questions, thoughts, input is very welcome.
Oh, and here is a link to a thread that is full of built ships and aircraft, statted out using these rules.
http://cortexsystemrpg.org/index.php?topic=5170.0
So far the images I'm using are just from the web (mainly from wikipedia).
There are going to be plenty of never were ships and planes, as it's technically an AU, but its not that much different...
Please comment, I'm constantly editing the rules to the annoyance of my players :P

does the game have a name?

Post subject:  Re: Brooklyn class cruiser

The play by post is called "What might have been"
But the system is just "Naval shipbuilding and combat in the cortex system"
Not a fun title, but whatever :P
