look up the KDX program and the Dokdo Class from south korea. all relatively new ships with at least one goalkeeper on board.
the dutch production line is closed however, due to the fact that there are other systems on the market which can do the job about as good for 1/5th of the price (which is why the RN switched from goalkeeper to phalanx in recent ships, there is something as good enough and the impact on cost and design is lower) south korea seems to have an production line open still. due to the lower amount of ships the dutch navy has enough goalkeepers in store to equip new ships with them, and upgrades the mountings for that reason instead of replacing them.

note also that the other systems (except phalanx) are all dual purpose systems IIRC, which became increasingly popular post cold war.
phalanx is still used on quite a few new ships (note for example the type 45 destroyers of the RN) while it is, if possible, even less stealthy then the goalkeeper.

Another reason for phalanx drop in sales is in part due to its own design. Being a plug and play system as such with most upgrades software based units are reused from old ships on newer vessels.

Ace, I know that; however, would even a United European Navy really need a precise equivalent of the hugely expensive Burkes? I know, as a former EU-taxpayer, I'd not be willing to pay up for such needless extravagance. I wanted to emphasize the more economic designs that have prevailed in Europe, especially the Iver Huitfeldts. Those could possibly be a mainstay of such future navy organization.
What I was really looking for was something that was an actually standardised design for an EUN with central admin and procurement (which means buying the same kit and saving money that way) and something that can do global deployments easily. A lot of our current designs can't. The RN is best at building designs at the high end with global deployment capability. My thinking was to learn from the different design strengths of the different navies and mix and match.

And the idea that building a bigger batch of ships, using the same equipment will bring unit price down and will allow us to go with more capable platforms, ie "global cruisers".

The strengths I want to use are:

RN - global deployment and high end kit
MN and MM - artillery and point defence
Deutsche Marine - resilient design - 2 islands and 3 box girders

ISTR reading something that that was mostly the 40mm and above guns, whereas the 20mms didn't do all that much. But maybe we should split this out into a separate discussion :)
