We've had the MBT, what about a modern replacement for the Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked), CVR(T), family of nine armoured vehicles? The CVR(T) family includes Scorpion and Scimitar light reconnaissance tanks, Spartan armoured personnel carriers (APC)s, Sultan command and control vehicle, Samaritan armoured ambulance, Striker anti–tank guided missile vehicle, Stormer anti–aircraft system, Samson armoured recovery vehicle and a flatbed version fitted with the Shielder minelaying system. All members of the CVR(T) family were designed to share common automotive components and suspension; aluminium armour was selected to keep the weight down. Additional members could be added, such as Combat Engineering Vehicles, Self-Propelled Guns and Ammunition Carriers for example. All should be designed to fit inside a transport aircraft or slung underneath a helicopter. |

Really unlikely (like one in two hundred million), but would a Weaponbucket challenge work out? Categorized into five types, contestants can choose from each firearm type: (pistol, SMG, assault/battle/bolt-action rifle, machine gun (light, medium, or heavy), grenade & rocket launcher, and PDW.) It can be any firearm dating from 1900-2030 without any boundaries if it existed or not, but here's the important thing: it must have realistic elements. Each contestant can only post one firearm. |

WB challenges are possible in the future IMO. But for now, Gunbucket is the preferred new challenge scale (due to many requests by Pantsu and the GB guys ) My own ideas for GB challenges: - Your nation's first battle rifle (1940-1960, full-power rifle cartridge only, 20rd magazine minimum, intended as standard infantry rifle and not support weapon) - real examples would be the FN FAL, M14, G3, etc. - Design your own Kalashnikov variant (use the action of the AK to design your own AK variant; can be any country/user/timeframe; must be chambered in 7.62x39 or 5.45x39; must accept standard AK-47 or AK-74 magazines) - real examples would include the Type 56, Galil, RK-62, etc. |
