Long time lurker who is wondering why it took him so long to sign up.

German born, Australian raised, residing in Perth, WA with the wife and two dogs. Have had a long association / interest with both civilian and naval shipping. Also interested in what-if's and alternate history scenarios. Hope to show you some of my work soon, once I have read the tutorials and gotten my head around the requirements.

Thank you all for the kind welcome. Currently reacquainting myself with MS Paint and also trying to get my head around GIMP, which appears to be a more fully fledged picture editor but with a correspondingly sharper learning curve.

Like a few others on this forum I have created a nation on www.nationstate.com and as such am building a navy to suit. Not sure if I should go the historical route and show the evolution of the 'Emanian' fleet or simply create vessels as they would appear now. Probably need to toss a coin on that one.

Sven.

Paint.Net is a good alternative if you want something that's more approachable
