Post subject:  Royal Thai Navy successfully fired its new ESSM.
The missile was fired from HTMS Naresuan's Mk.41 VLS on 30 August 2015 against the US Navy's target drone. The missile hitted and destroyed the target.

RTN upgraded its Naresuan-class frontline frigate with 9LV CMS, Sea Giraffe AMB 3D radar, CEROS 200 fire control radar, EOS 500 EO/IR all from Saab AB.

GULF OF THAILAND (Aug. 30, 2015) The Royal Thai Navy ship HTMS Naresuan launches a missile at a BQM-74E target drone during Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Thailand 2015. In its 21st year, CARAT is an annual, bilateral exercise series with the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and the armed forces of nine partner nations including Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Timor-Leste. I find it ironic that an American Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile guided by European radars (Sweden detection acquisition track engage suite.) is fired from a People's Republic of China copy of a Russian Riga type warship in a naval exercise designed to diplomatically front that very PRC nation as part of a SEATO deterrence performance to send a message.
