Just a less know part of War that you will not find in history books from times of Soviet Union and what is still denied by many pseudo-historians.
03.00, 17 September, 1939' The Red Army cross the Polish - Soviet border in acknowledge with Ribbentrop - Molotov pact. Meeting small resistance they move fast to the new border between Third Reich and Soviet Union. After that the Soviet Regime start the reign of terror on occupied lands, killing, destroying and deportation Poles to Siberia. This is one of the most tragic moment in modern Poland history that for many years was put in to permanent "ban of thinking about it" zone.
Let the memory of those victims never die in minds of present people as it's part of Europe history. And that it should never happen again.
There is this memorial across the Hudson river from the new World Trade Center called the Katyń Memorial. I see it every morning because there is a subway station nearby.

These kinds of threads just cannot pass here. I tought we had a clear rule and understanding about political discussion as it is one of the main reasons for flame-fights and personal insults over internet forums. Thus it has no place in shipbucket forum.
Now I belive that this thread might be posted without any other intentions than to genuinely showing the distress and symphaty to those who had suffered in the history but others could inturperate this as a provocative nationalist slur and given the situation in real life international policy the mess is ready. History can be used so easily as a spark to nationalism and the derailing of this and any other similar type of threads is almoust self-evident.
So to everyone, if you want to open your hearts and express your political and/or nationalistical tendensies, do it elsewhere. In shipbucket we are to draw ships and have a good and pleasent time while doing it.
Thread closed. Do not open similar threads on this nor anyother issues which falls into this same cathegory.
