Interesting. I wonder if this relates to the capability of the Sidewinder over the ASRAAM or if it's just easier to go for what the US is using (not to mention for the aircraft we are buying)... |

Much more likely the latter. Last time I heard about the subject we were having difficulties integrating ASRAAM with the F-35 so the path of least resistance dictates buying AIM-9X which *does* work... |

AIM-9X has higher agility to ASRAAM since it has TVC. However, ASRAAM has longer range. |
