I recently picked up the Pacific Crossroads boxed set and like the premise of the game, and love the possibility of slugging it out with the old dreadnoughts on a map sheet. The problem is twofold- 1.) they have no official community forum that I can locate and 2.) I'm not lucking out on trying to find unofficial ones.

So, in hopes that people that like drawing battleships might also like blowing up battleships, I ask this and hope it's not violating any rules- does anyone here play GWaS, and/or does anyone know of any community forums?

Not a computer game, Chuck... it's a table-top wargame.
Cardboard counters, xeroxed ship displays, hex maps... nothing finer for wasting a afternoon!!!

sorry about thinking it was a computer game. I did not think they made board games any more. I know that even "battleship" is now on computer. You did say box set so I guess I had a brain fart.

One of the games in the Great War at Sea series. They frequently include Never Were units as options in the games and many of the supplements, including one covering Battleships on the Great Lakes. Would have loved to get into the series, but lack of money and players...

Does someone play the classic "Axis and Allies" boardgame?

Back at university we could play 8-12 hour games. Happy times..

I love A&A, but haven't played in a bit.
It's simple, fairly fast-paced and easy to get people interested in while still involving a bit of strategy. I think that the new edition will be my next big board game buy.

I picked up one called Merchants and Marauders that fans of A&A might like. It's like Sid Meier's Pirate's on a game board- and is VERY easy to play and VERY fun. Gonna get my nephew hooked on this one!

I used to play 2nd Fleet by Victory Games. That was a cracking board game.
