Being Norwegians, this was the first thing Amundsen and his team did after they arrived to the South Pole:

No, I have not forgotten it, we actually have a TV program here in Norway where one goes in Amundsen footsteps ...

Yes, but he was damned unsporting. What with all his proper preparation, good kit, and excellent supply, well....he was just too 'professional'. Whereas R F Scott and his chaps set out in (the equivalent of) shirt sleeves and gentlemanly amateurism. True, your chap got there first, but ours died heroically. And I'm not impressed by you Norwegians showing off by swimming!!

that's nothing, we do like the Finns, first swim we in ice water then we go in the hottest sauna we can find. It's fun to experience a temperature change from 0 degrees Celsius to 70-90 degrees Celsius. hehehe

I use to ski in just panties in the winter so what! We are and always will be crazy as Vikings. But you can sort of say that Amundsen made the line on how Norway will be in the future, aristocrats who do not do anything until they have all made clear in advance. Today we are wimps .....

trolololo
