Well said This is what we call Remembrance Day: the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month (and this year the 11th year), to mark the end of WWI. I did attend a flag ceremony this morning at the Council Chambers, but the important one will be this Sunday at our village church, where a couple of old soldiers will lead the wreath laying ceremony, and we'll have the army cadets attending. |

My wife and a fellow veteran laid a wreath at a memorial yesterday. This year's Veterans day seems much more special to me...I guess it might be in part because my community just this past week laid a fallen soldier to rest, and the memory if his sacrifice is so fresh. Indeed, a heartfelt thanks go out to all the Military servicemen out there. You do a hard job with honor and courage, and for that we simply cannot thank you enough. |
