28 years ago today, US and French military barracks in Beirut, Lebanon were attacked by suicide bombers of the Islamic Jihad movement. 241 American Marines, Sailors and Soldiers, and 58 French paratroopers lost their lives in the attacks. For the Marines, it was the single deadliest day since Iwo Jima in World War II. Six civilians were also killed in the bombing of the French barracks. |

I live in Jerusalem, i'v seen my share of bombing. and i tell you it's not the way for anyone to die. |
