I want to make the ''search'' function a little bit easier, and if everybody helps me in it.
It would be really awesome, and easy to find stuff.

How does it work?

For example, you got a topic like Planebucket, FD Scale vehicles. Or even a nation wide topic in Real life ships.

In that topic you post a picture of... A thing.
For example now, these two aircraft. (ill post it like a post, wich is usually done)

The usual post of avarage people:

''
I just made these two aircraft, enjoy.
Attachment:
Airplanes.png
''

Now if you search the name of these planes, or Messerschmitt P1110, or Heinkel P.1079A, when you want to have them.
Then you will find. 0.0% of this post, not even one thing on this board.

So my suggestion is, that with the post, the names should be given.

Now the post i like to suggest:

''
I just made these two aircraft, enjoy.
Attachment:
Airplanes.png
- Messerschmitt P1110
- Heinkel P.1079A
''

Now if you use the search function, you will find at least this topic! (search.php?keywords=Messerschmitt+P1110 ... mit=Search)
And you will find them very fast, because if the name is used like 8 times.
And only one of them is ''planebucket'', then wich i*i*t will press the topic name ''off topic''

I quess this should be a rule in Planebucket, and FD scale ATLEAST. And maby in topics like that from ace. Enforcer series.
Or nation wide topics.

Maby in every topic you make with a picture.

Share your thoughts!
PSS, press one of the two buttons in the poll.

Given that how long and painfull it was to get the lads to name the drawing files properly how do you think this would work? After three years if all mods fully commits to keep you guys in check you might get something done. IMO it's not worth of issuing as managment-intens rule like this just so the search function works properly.

I suggest that you guys save drawings which you see here in SB to your own computer so you can then search them with ease.

Yes but its painfull, when people do not have large HD's.
People can be finally a bit worthy when they use their brains (everybody has a hard time finding things). And do this.
Doesnt have to be a rule at all. If people just add the names of the drawings.
Doesnt take a minut, only a fraction of seconds.
Exept if you write like my father, 1 letter a hour...

Thats exactly what we tought naming the drawing files would be. Easy and simple, you just name the files with the given formula..

...but no...

I have probably the largest SB archive of anyone, and the total size for my archive folders (not the copy-to-work-with folders - which I do for every project) is under 300 megs.

I see no reason for people to not give textual names of what they've drawn, but I see no reasonable way to implement such a requirement. Sounds like a good idea, but only as an optional thing.
