The quad 45mm was a postwar development using captured German technology (the 55mm autocannon). It served on a number of ships including DD's but was rather quickly replaced with the twin 57mm, it served in the 50's and 60's but IIRC was gone by the early 70's. The mount was two barrels over and two under with very little armor. I think there were some teething troubles with it that were never fully resolved and the twin 57mm did work so that was a good part of it (as was probably the desire to standardize on one caliber).

Just asking here, were there any native Chinese designs or did they just bought ships from other navies?

AFAIK everything was bought from someone else, with a few IJN ships being handed over in 1946. It's not until something like the 1980's before China started her own designs...
