I think I have to agree with Bombhead, for when I am thinking about it, almost all filming in Sink the Bismarck was done aboard Vanguard, so it's funny that I didn't think about that!

Renown she is :) And yes, they really were that ornate, at least for the officers :lol: And of course, the captain lived in splendid isolation - hence the palatial private quarters. Of course, at the other end of the scale, ordinary matlow's had to sling their hammocks in any space they could find, and with the increase in crew numbers during hostilities available space was limited.

I've been in the captain's cabin of USS Wisconsin and it wasn't nearly that ornate. The RN has it lucky - of course, they're the RN :P
