It is the experimental angled deck conversion of the Essex class, USS Antietam serving as NAS Pensacola's training carrier sometime between 1957 and 1963. She has no hurricane bow like the other conversions, and retains her deck 5"/38 mounts. Her WW2 tripod and the open angle girders supporting the deck were plated in after the original refit, and she's got trainers aboard, rather than the ASW group she would have had between 1954 and 1956.

That would be correct. Excellent deduction. She was the only Essex in service after 1960 that never received any of the major refits (other than her angled deck).
